I am an artist fascinated by light, colour and the interactions of man, nature and wildlife and spend much of my time walking and observing the rhythms of the natural world around me.
Sketching from life gives me the starting point and from here paintings are developed through further planning and decision making. Sometimes several sketches will be pieced together to form a balanced composition and from time to time I will paint from memory.
The essence of my paintings comes from a deep Love of light & colour. I'm happy to paint any subject as it's the special quality of light interacting with the subject that inspires me.
I hope these pictures will convey a feeling for some of the processes that are involved in the creation of my paintings.
