Sketching from life gives me the starting point and from here paintings are developed through further planning and decision making. Sometimes several sketches will be pieced together to form a balanced composition and from time to time I will paint from memory.
The essence of my paintings comes from a deep Love of light & colour and I'm happy to paint any subject as it's the special quality of light interacting with the subject that inspires me.
I hope these pictures will give an insight into some of the processes that are involved in the creation of my paintings.
